The Specialist, Mechanical & Project Planner plans and coordinates mechanical maintenance work and leads small capital and expense projects supporting Facilities & Services, laboratories, pilot plants, and other internal stakeholders. The position develops safe, executable work plans and coordinates engineering, contractors, craft personnel, HSE, procurement, and facility stakeholders from scope development through project completion.

What You’ll Do

• Demonstrate a proactive approach to safety and maintain a strong safety record.
• Plan mechanical work involving pressure vessels, piping systems, structural components, machines, pumps, and related facility equipment, including scopes, craft labor, materials, permits, and work sequencing.
• Work with customers and field personnel to define scope, identify constraints, and establish the safest execution strategy.
• Coordinate with engineering and design personnel, planners, craft supervisors, HSE, contractors, and facility stakeholders to execute work.
• Support emergency mechanical repairs and excavation permitting.
• Ensure work complies with applicable codes, standards, Phillips 66 requirements, and site procedures.
• Manage assigned small capital and expense projects, primarily involving mechanical maintenance, reliability, building systems, facility infrastructure, or customer-funded work.
• Serve as the single point of accountability for assigned project scope, cost, schedule, safety, risks, communications, and completion.
• Develop or coordinate estimates, schedules, funding requests, purchase requisitions, bid specifications, and contract-service requirements.
• Coordinate project execution, including contractors, heavy equipment, site access, outages, work permits, materials, and field activities.
• Monitor cost and schedule performance, manage project risks, and communicate status to customers and management.
• Approve project and contract labor invoices when authorized or perform the technical review and recommend approval to the budget owner.
• Maintain suitable project records.

• 3 or more years of experience in an industrial, facilities, or building-maintenance environment
• Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
• Ability to work occasional off-hours during turnarounds, emergency repairs, or other high-demand periods

• Familiarity with OSHA requirements and applicable site safety practices
• Self-starter with strong motivation, initiative, and the ability to learn new skills

Compensation Range

This position has a base salary range of $108,900 - $133, 100.
