Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering Technology or related field with 4+ years of relevant experience; graduate degree with 2+ years, or 8+ years experience in lieu of degree.
• Experience in defense, aerospace, medical devices, automotive, or other highly regulated industries.
• Demonstrated experience creating complex mechanical drawings for manufacturing and managing engineering change processes.
• Proficiency with 3D CAD software and PDM/PLM systems.

Responsibilities

• Create detailed, accurate mechanical engineering drawings for missile components, assemblies, and sub-assemblies using Solid Edge CAD ensuring ASME Y14.100 and Y14.5 GD&T standards.
• Develop part, assembly, and installation drawings with tolerances, GD&T callouts, and manufacturing instructions.
• Manage design trees and BOMs within the PDM/PLM system, ensuring configuration control and data integrity.
• Incorporate Engineering Orders and Engineering Change Orders into existing design documentation, coordinating with cross-functional teams.
• Review engineering drawings for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with military specifications and standards.
• Interface with manufacturing, QA, and supply chain to address drawing-related questions and provide drafting guidance.
• Participate in design reviews and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Support prototype development and testing with accurate documentation.
• Travel <5% for supplier visits or training; obtain/maintain US Government Secret security clearance.
