Job summary

UW Medical Center Northwest is seeking a Specialist Mammography Imaging Technologist for part-time work (20 hours/week) in Seattle. You will perform screening and diagnostic mammography, assist with breast ultrasound biopsies, and support ultrasound-guided localization procedures with radiologists.

The role requires ARRT Mammography certification and WA Radiologic Technologist licensure; ultrasound training within 1 year and MQSA compliance are expected.

  • WA state Radiologic Technologist license required.
  • Ultrasound training and CE credits within 1 year of hire.

Responsibilities

  • Operate mammography and ultrasound equipment independently.
  • Assist radiologist with ultrasound biopsies and localization procedures.
  • Troubleshoot equipment malfunctions and report issues.
  • Maintain aseptic technique and accurate patient records in EPIC and PACS.

Our board-certified radiologists have specialty training in cardiac imaging, neuroimaging, musculoskeletal, interventional radiology, nuclear medicine and body and breast imaging. Along with our team of expert imaging technologists, they are committed to diagnosing illnesses and injuries quickly and effectively so treatment can begin.• We take time and attention with each patient to explain procedures, so they’ll know what to expect every step of the way.• Radiology Services at UW Medical Center - Northwest offers routine radiology, magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), computed tomography (CT), ultrasound, nuclear medicine, and interventional radiology.PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIESUnderstand and be able to independently operate and practice proper use of mammography and ultrasound equipmentTroubleshoot minor problems with mammography and US equipment and report equipment malfunctions to supervisor or appropriate servicePractice proper aseptic techniques following use of all equipmentChoose appropriate patient from work list or enters required patient information to maintain accurate permanent record of test resultsEvaluate new prototype equipment and maintains confidentiality of proprietary informationHave knowledge of EPIC and PACS to perform daily dutiesREQUIRED POSITION QUALIFICATIONSSatisfactory completion of formal technology training in an AMA approved school, registration by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT)ORequivalent education/experience.LEGAL REQUIREMENTCertified by the State of Washington as a Radiologic Technologist.Registered by ARRT as a Mammography Technologist (ARRT(R)(M) Mammography certification)DESIREDBreast Ultrasound training and CE’s within 1 year of hire and certification within 1 year of completion of training/CE’s.
