Job summary

BNY Mellon in Jersey City seeks a Specialist, Infrastructure Solution Engineer to contribute to cloud infrastructure automation using Terraform, ARM, and IaC within a multi-cloud environment (Azure, AWS, GCP).

You will write code in Python or Java, support deployment of services like AKS, serverless, and managed databases, and participate in the full SDLC with security and architecture teams to meet enterprise standards. Collaboration and documentation are key.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering or related technical discipline.
• Foundational understanding of Python or Java.
• Basic familiarity with cloud concepts (compute, storage, networking, containers, serverless).

Responsibilities

• Learn and contribute to cloud infrastructure automation using Terraform, ARM, and IaC frameworks under the guidance of senior engineers.
• Write clean, maintainable code in Python or Java, leveraging AI-assisted development tools such as Claude, ChatGPT, or Devin to accelerate learning and productivity.
• Support the deployment and operation of cloud services including AKS (Kubernetes), serverless functions, web platforms, and managed databases across Azure, AWS, and GCP.
• Participate in the full Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) - from design and development through testing, CI/CD pipelines, deployment, and post-production monitoring.
• Collaborate with Security, IAM, Networking, and Architecture teams to build solutions that meet enterprise compliance and identity standards.
• Contribute to clear, well-structured technical documentation that enables operational excellence and knowledge sharing across teams.
• Stay curious - actively explore emerging cloud technologies, tools, and industry best practices to grow your skills and contribute fresh ideas to the team.
• Assist in building and improving internal cloud tooling, dashboards, and self-service platforms that engineering teams across BNY rely on daily.

We're seeking a Specialist, Infrastructure Solution Engineer to join our Infrastructure Solutions team in Jersey City, NJ

In this role, you'll make an impact in the following ways:

Learn and contribute to cloud infrastructure automation using Terraform, Azure Resource Manager (ARM), and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) frameworks under the guidance of senior engineers.

To be successful in this role, we're seeking the following:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related technical discipline .
• Foundational understanding of at least one programming language - Python or Java preferred .
• Basic familiarity with cloud concepts - compute, storage, networking, containers, or serverless - through coursework, labs, certifications, or self-study
• Exposure to version control (Git/GitHub/GitLab) and collaborative software development workflows .
• Genuine curiosity about cloud infrastructure, automation, and the engineering behind large-scale distributed systems
• Strong analytical thinking, attention to detail, and written communication skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and proactively ask questions .
