Position Overview: The Information System Security Specialist will lead and support cybersecurity compliance, riskmanagement, and system auditing frameworks for critical defense network operations in Crane, IN. This role isresponsible for ensuring that complex military, tactical, and laboratory computing environments adhere strictlyto the Risk Management Framework (RMF), National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST)guidelines, and Department of Defense (DoD) directives. Acting as a key advisor to engineering and softwareteams, this professional will actively manage security controls, eliminate system vulnerabilities, and safeguardsensitive defense-related data against emerging cyber threats

Requirements

Required Qualifications

  • Clearance: Must possess and maintain an active DoD Secret Clearance, with immediate eligibility forTS/SCI clearance access.
  • Education: A Bachelor of Science degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Computer Engineering,Information Technology, or an equivalent technical core discipline.
  • Professional Certifications: Current DoD 8570.01-M / 8140 Baseline Certification aligned to IAT Level IIor IAM Level II standard (e.g., CompTIA Security+, CISSP, CISM, or CAP/ISC2 Certified AuthorizationProfessional).
  • Technical Experience: Minimum of 3 to 6 years of direct operational experience executing cybersecurityassurance, system configuration hardening, or technical systems administration within a defense aerospaceor military industrial landscape.
  • Framework Proficiency: Direct, practical proficiency utilizing the NIST SP 800-53 security control catalogs,eMASS (Enterprise Mission Assurance Support Service) database workflows, and DISA Security TechnicalImplementation Guides (STIGs)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience applying secure frameworks to Unix/Linux enterprise infrastructures, industrial controlenvironments, or embedded real-time systems (RTOS).
  • Familiarity utilizing shell scripting languages (Bash, PowerShell) or Python to automate system compliancechecking and streamline log parsing pipelines.
  • Direct working knowledge supporting naval combat platforms, maritime sensors, or electronic warfaresystems under the preview of Naval Surface Warfare Center (NSWC) Crane commands

Must be able to obtain or have secret or top secret clearance.
