Job summary

SAIC is seeking a Cybersecurity Engineer to support Crane NSWC in Crane, IN. You will lead RMF package work, perform assessments, and maintain monitoring strategies while coordinating with the ISSM and engineering teams.

The role involves vulnerability scanning with ACAS/Nessus and SCAP, incident response support, and applying secure engineering principles to defend the system boundary. DoD clearance eligibility is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline with 5+ years of experience; Master's with 3+ years allowed.
• Must meet IASAE Level II baseline qualifications.
• Must be able to obtain/maintain DoD Secret Clearance; Interim Secret required to start; SAIC sponsor available.

Responsibilities

• Lead RMF package development, updates, and submissions in government repositories (eMASS).
• Conduct security control assessments, draft POA&Ms, and maintain continuous monitoring strategies.
• Perform automated and manual vulnerability assessments using ACAS (Nessus) and SCAP.
• Bridge the software development/systems engineering team and the ISSM.
• Analyze security logs, detect anomalies, and support incident response or forensics.
• Apply security engineering principles for secure designs, configurations, and boundary defenses.

Candidates will be required to

• Lead the development, update, and submission of the RMF packages inside government repositories (e.g., eMASS).
• Conducts security control assessments, draft Plans of Action and Milestones (POA&Ms), and maintains system continuous monitoring strategies.
• Performs automated and manual vulnerability assessments using tools like ACAS (Nessus) and SCAP.
• Serves as the primary bridge between the software development/systems engineering team and the Information System Security Manager (ISSM).
• Assists in analyzing security logs, detecting anomalies, and providing system-level technical support during incident response or forensic investigations.
• Applies system security engineering principles to implement secure designs, secure configurations, and boundary defenses (firewalls, IDS/IPS, access controls).

Qualifications

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

• Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Assurance, System Engineering, or a related technical discipline and five (5) years or more experience; Masters and three (3) years or more experience.
• Must meet the IASAE Level II baseline qualification requirements.
• Must be able to obtain/maintain full DoD Secret Clearance. Interim Secret required to start. SAIC will sponsor clearance.
