Job summary

St. Joseph’s Health seeks a professional to assess and treat children with feeding problems within an interdisciplinary team. You will collect data on mealtime behaviors and oral-motor skills, and serve as the primary feeder of the child while coordinating with caretakers and clinicians.

The role emphasizes analytical thinking, strong communication, and excellent organizational skills to ensure compassionate, effective care in a hospital setting in New Jersey.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, Nutrition, Special Education or an Associate’s degree with 3+ years of related experience.
• Analytical skills and sound judgment required; attention to detail and problem resolution.
• Strong customer service, communication, organizational and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

Job description

Under the supervision of the Interdisciplinary Team, is responsible for conducting the assessment and treatment protocols of children with feeding problems. Serves as the primary feeder of the child. Collects data on the child's mealtime behaviors and oral-motor skills and caretaker integrity. Acts as the liaison between the child's caretakers and Interdisciplinary Team.

Qualifications

Work requires the knowledge of theories, principles, and concepts normally acquired through completion of a Bachelor's degree in Psychology, Nutrition, Special Education OR an Associate’s degree with 3 or more years of related experience. Requires analytical skills with the ability to exercise sound judgment, attention to detail and problem resolution. Must possess strong customer service, communication, organizational & interpersonal skills.
