Job summary

St. Joseph’s Health is seeking a Nutrition Specialist to assess patients' nutritional needs, provide evidence-based care and monitor responses to nutrition therapy across age groups.

The role requires a Bachelor's degree in Nutritional Science and RD/RDN registration, with up to 1 year of related coursework or internship and 3–6 months of orientation. Excellent communication with patients and families is essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Nutritional Science or closely related field, plus up to 1 year of post-degree coursework or internship; no prior experience required.
• RD/RDN registration is required.
• Ability to collect information from diverse sources, apply professional principles and analyze to solve problems or design systems.
• Ability to counsel and educate patients and their families; communicate effectively.

Qualifications

Work requires knowledge of theories, principles, & concepts normally acquired through completion of a Bachelor's degree in Nutritional Science/ closely related field + up to 1 yr of post degree course work and/or internship & no previous experience + 3-6 months of on job training/orientation. RD/RDN registration required. Work requires the analytical ability to collect information from diverse sources, apply professional principles in performing various analyses, and summarize the information and data in order to solve problems OR design relatively complex systems and programs. Work requires the ability to counsel and educate patients and their families, assign and follow up on the work of other employees, and perform other duties requiring a comparable level of communication skill.
