Job summary

Air Products is seeking a highly motivated Specialist Electrician to support operations across the Midwest and Southeastern United States. The role requires leading maintenance crews, working independently, and possibly responding to plant needs 24/7.

Primary sites are located throughout the US with significant travel within the region and occasional international travel. Applicants should have a high school diploma and relevant experience; a technical school or college degree is preferred.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma required; technical school or college degree preferred.
  • Prior supervisory experience is a plus.
  • Demonstrated supervisory skills and safe work skills required.
  • Strong computer skills are a prerequisite.

Responsibilities

  • Perform and/or supervise inspection, repair, installation, troubleshooting, modification, and maintenance of electrical equipment.
  • Support electrical reliability and maintenance across Global Operations plants and partners.
  • Diagnose equipment issues and provide technical expertise to resolve failures.
  • Develop refurbishment procedures for worn electrical components and oversee repair and spare parts replacement.

This is a residence-based position.Specialist Electrician hold a highly demanding role that requires strong organizational skills, the ability to work independently, and the capability to lead maintenance crews when necessary. This position provides critical support to operations and may require availability on a 24-hour per day, 7-day per week basis to respond to plant needs.Work is performed at facilities located throughout the United States, with primary responsibility for supporting the Industrial Gases (IG) South Subregion, which includes approximately 88 locations across the Southeastern United States. Relevant experience will be given strong consideration in lieu of formal education.Minimum 5 years (10 years preferred) experience in the petrochemical and manufacturing industry, and in low, medium and high voltage electrical equipment maintenance, start-up or commissioning environmentPractical knowledge relating to electrical distribution, motors and motor controls, conduit and wiring practices, lighting and grounding as well as familiarity with the National Electrical Code, particularly hazardous locations, is highly desirable.Prior supervisory experience is a plus.Demonstrated supervisory skills and safe work skills.
