Air Products is seeking a seasoned Electrical Engineer to support reliable operations of industrial electrical equipment at company-owned facilities across North America. The role reports to the Manager of Electrical Engineering at the Global Headquarters in Allentown, PA, and emphasizes field support, maintenance strategy execution, and safety compliance.

• Willingness to travel up to 25% in North America.

Check out some of our benefits below!Affordable Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance (day 1 of employment)401k with 100% vested company core and matchPaid Vacation, holidays + sick timePaid Parental leave (Up to 8 weeks)Backup Child and Adult Care benefitAdoption assistanceFlexible spending accounts (medical, dependent daycare)Life Insurance (AD&D- Paid for by Air Products), Supplemental AD&DLegal Plan & Identity theft coverageEAP (Employee Assistance Program)Many more supplemental benefits availableResponsibilities:Provide technical assistance to field personnel in the areas of high voltage distribution equipment and high voltage motors/generators.Respond and provide technical assistance to electrical equipment problems within the company-owned facilities.Direct and coordinate vendor shop repairs on high voltage motors and other equipment for quality assurance.Issue repair reports at the conclusion of critical jobs for accurate historical documentation.Identify engineered solutions to recurring electrical issues.Improve plant/equipment reliability through historical trending and improved maintenance procedures.Lead and participate in root cause analysis (RCA).Execute equipment maintenance strategies (predictive and preventive).Ensure adherence to internal and national standards when specifying and maintaining equipment.Review and approve engineering documents on plant upgrade projects.Support training, coaching, and mentoring of electrical field technicians and operations staff in the safe operation and preventative maintenance of electrical distribution systems.100 % compliance with Safety and Environmental standards.Program protective relays with settings developed in systems analysis software.Qualifications:Experience in operations and maintenance of large industrial plants is required.Proficiency in programming and bringing together event information from protective relays is required.Main vendors in use are SEL and GE MultilinProven understanding of SKM Power Tools for Windows engineering software is helpful.Experience in other software modeling packages such as ETAP will be considered.Proficiency in crafting safe work permits and HV Lock-out/Tag-out orders is required.Experience specifying, reviewing, and approving HV substation equipment, transformers, HV and LV motors and Generators, Motor control centers, Variable frequency drives, Station Battery, and UPS systems is helpful.Flexibility and ability to travel in North America up to 25%.Minimum Hiring Requirements:Associate’s Degree in Electrical Engineering Technology or equivalent working experience6 to 8 years of experience as a qualified electrical worker in an industrial facility.Must be legally eligible to work in the US without current or future sponsorship (e.g. temporary work visa or work permit).#LI-LA1Founded in 1940, Air Products is a world-leading industrial gases company and has a proud history of innovation, operational excellence, with an unwavering commitment to safety and environmental stewardship.
