Job summary

Jones Day is a global law firm seeking a Docket & Court Services Specialist to provide calendar and court support to assigned litigation case teams in a regional, multi-office setting. You will enter case information, determine appropriate court jurisdictions, and generate reports for case teams and clients.

Ideal candidates bring 2–4 years of docketing or litigation support experience, with solid knowledge of federal court rules, strong organizational and communication skills, and proficiency

Qualifications

  • Two to four years of experience of docketing or relevant litigation support experience.
  • Litigation paralegal experience with filing experience, beneficial.
  • Extensive knowledge of federal court procedural rules.
  • Understand the workflow for a variety of litigation cases to accurately enter case information and select the appropriate court jurisdiction utilizing a rule based docketing software.
  • Provide daily support to attorneys and legal support staff by responding to inquiries relating to case status updates as well as specific court rules. This support will also include providing weekly reports and creating ad hoc reports as needed by the case team or client.
  • Perform requested docket research and retrieve case documents using PACER and other electronic services. This may include contacting court clerks to obtain documents not available electronically.
  • Superior organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.

  • The Docket & Court Services Specialist will report to the Regional Docket Manager in their region.
  • They will perform their responsibilities in accordance with Firm instructions and Firm standards for delivering docket and court support services.

Jones Day offers competitive salaries and benefits to all employees. Compensation is determined upon the market in which the position is located, the responsibilities of the position, the experience and skills of the applicant, and other job-related factors. The starting salary range for this Washington, D.C. position is $75,000 - $95,000.
