Job summary

The Contracts Specialist at L3Harris Technologies, Palm Bay, FL, will lead proposal preparation, negotiate terms, and administer government contracts in compliance with FAR/DFARS and ITAR. You’ll collaborate with customers, program teams, and legal to minimize risk and ensure timely contract execution.

Requirements include a Bachelor’s degree with 4+ years of relevant experience or graduate degree with 2+ years; or 8+ years if no degree. Travel as needed.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree with a minimum of 4 years of prior relevant experience.
  • Graduate Degree and a minimum of 2 years of prior related experience.
  • In lieu of a degree, minimum of 8 years of prior related experience.
  • In-depth knowledge and experience with FAR and DFARS required and functional knowledge.
  • Hands on experience with EAR and ITAR.
  • Experience with reviewing RFPs, preparing proposals, negotiation, definitization and administration of Commercial and Government Contracts.
  • Experience in problem solving through creative solutions drawing from prior experience is preferred.
  • Possess excellent communications skills. Effectively communicate complicated and sensitive subjects via formal letters, possess proper email skills, and possess excellent verbal communication skills.
  • Understanding of cost and price estimating concepts
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently within a cross-functional team environment.
  • Experience and be able to manage complex projects or processes.
  • Able to travel as required and on short notice.

Job Description:

This position is responsible for conducting proposal preparation, pre-contract data collection, and administering, extending, negotiating and terminating standard and nonstandard government contracts.
