Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in criminal justice or social work with three years' related experience in domestic violence and victim advocacy and outreach; or seven years of related work experience in domestic violence and victim advocacy and outreach.
• Domestic violence counseling and sexual assault counseling certifications.
• Knowledge of Massachusetts Domestic Violence Law, Enforcement Guidelines, Victims' Bill of Rights, 209A.
• Knowledge of community services and resources for victims of domestic violence and other serious crimes.
• Ability to communicate effectively at all levels and maintain discretion with confidential information.
• Counseling and advocacy skills for victims and their children in domestic violence and other serious crimes.
• Proficiency in computers including data base, word processing and spreadsheet software.

Responsibilities

• Serve as liaison between victims and the Police Department.

Minimum Qualifications
