Job summary

Knowles in Liberty, SC seeks a technician to electrically test high voltage capacitors per engineering specs. You will use LCR, IR, and LC meters to perform AC/DC voltage tests and set up pulse testing, including inverters and resonant circuits.

Reading and following test procedures is essential; you will ensure quality while handling up to 50 lbs. and working around moving parts in a manufacturing setting.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Read and interpret test procedures and specs.
• Convert between SAE and metric units and engineering prefixes.

Responsibilities

• Test capacitors with LCR, IR, and LC meters.
• Perform capacitor voltage testing (AC and DC).
• Set up pulse testing and complex inverter/resonant circuits.
• Conduct mechanical tests for dimension accuracy.
• Follow advanced procedures, including military standards.

Overview:

Electrically test high voltage capacitors according to engineering specifications and quality standards

Job Responsibilities:

• Electrically test capacitors using LCR, IR, and LC meters
• Capacitor voltage testing, AC and DC
• Set up and perform pulse testing of capacitors
• Ability to set up complex testing involving inverters and resonant frequency circuits
• Performs mechanical tests of capacitors for dimension accuracy
• Ability to read and follow advanced test procedures including military standards
• Ability to adhere to the highest standard of quality while continually performing at the highest level possible

Language Skills:

• Ability to read and comprehend oral and written instructions and other manufacturing documents
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to communicate effectively with managers and co-workers

Computer Skills:

• Ability to use Microsoft Excel, Word and additional test specific software
• Ability to read and understand test specifications

Physical Demands:

• Regularly required to stand, walk, and sit - Full body movement
• Constant alertness
• Routinely lift or move up to 50 lbs.

Education Requirements

Mathematical:

Ability to convert between SAE, Metric measurements, and engineering prefixes (i.e. milli, micro(µ), etc.)

High School diploma or GED

• Frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts and the potential of electrical shocks
• Occasionally exposed to exterior temperature conditions - heat in the summer, cold in the winter
• Regularly exposed to loud noise
