Job summary

Advantage SCI is seeking a Special Security Representative to support a federal SCIF program in Kansas City. You will develop SOPs, manage access and accreditation, and ensure safeguarding of classified materials.

The role requires an active TS/SCI clearance, at least four years in a security role, travel as needed, and after-hours responsiveness. Proficiency with MS Office and strong coordination skills are essential.

Qualifications

  • Active TS/SCI clearance required.
  • Minimum four years’ experience as a Special Security Representative or similar.
  • Experience with SCIF construction or renovation preferred.
  • Demonstrated customer service experience with government or corporate clients.
  • Knowledge of MS Office applications; reporting skills.
  • Able to respond to after-hours emergencies.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate, develop, and implement local SCIF SOPs and Emergency Plans for accreditation.
  • Conduct SCIF inspections, corrective action planning, and on-site support.
  • Process and issue Courier Orders and Aircraft Courier Authorizations.
  • Coordinate with stakeholders for SCIF accreditation/certification for classified IT.
  • Perform IDS testing, security reviews, and self-inspections.
  • Maintain access controls and visitor verification procedures.
  • Verify clearances and passes; investigate security incidents.

Job Description:

Advantage SCI, LLC is accepting applications for Special Security Representatives to be considered for full-time employment in support of a federal government agency’s Sensitive Compartmented Information Facility (SCIF) operations/management. Some travel is required and personnel must be available as needed to respond to after-hours emergencies.

Summary of duties:

  • Coordinating, developing, and implementing local SCIF Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) and Emergency Plans (EP), policies, and guidance, including the preparation of SCIF documentation required for accreditation.
  • Conducting SCIF inspections, corrective action planning, and on-site support.
  • Processing and issuing Courier Orders and Aircraft Courier Authorizations.
  • Coordinating with applicable stakeholders for SCIF accreditation/certification for classified IT.
  • Conducting Semi and Annual IDS testing and USM directed Security Review; Annual Self-Inspections, SOP/EP reviews and EP testing.
  • Instituting/maintaining access process to authorized SCIF users; maintain access control roster.
  • Executing visitor control functions to include security clearance verification
  • Verifying/validating clearances and accesses
  • Investigating known or suspected security violations, incidents, and unauthorize disclosures
  • Ensuring SCIF integrity through alarm monitoring, management, and auditing of the access control system
  • Receiving/validating incoming clearances and accesses; passing clearances and SCI accesses; preparing Visit Authorization Request (VAR) and Permanent Certifications
  • Verifying/vetting news media personnel/equipment for SCIF interviews
  • Reviewing/processing foreign travel/contact requests and verifying/vetting foreign nationals
  • Administering the annual SCI and Derivative Classification Refresher training
  • Coordinating/executing Co-Utilization Authorizations
  • Serving as the Alternate Information System Security Officer (AISSO) for designated SCIF space
  • Servicing industrial security SCIFs in the National Capital Region
  • Conducting preliminary inquiries for security incidents and performing the preliminary inquiry documentation and recommendations
  • Maintaining access codes, spin-dial combinations, intrusion detection system codes and keys for SCI Facilities/doors
  • Conducting onsite monitoring of security systems and responding as necessary to system failures/power outages to provide security support of the space
  • Must have an active TS/SCI clearance
  • Must have experience/direct involvement/management with either new SCIF construction or renovation
  • High school diploma
  • Minimum Four (4) Years’ experience as a Special Security Representative or similar position with duties as described above.
  • Experience handling customer service for a government organization or private corporation in an official capacity
  • College education and management experience is desired, but not required.
  • Knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Outlook, Word and Excel.
  • Excellent written and oral reporting skills, interpersonal skills.
