Job description

Primary Responsibilities

The Special Projects Forman is responsible for planning, coordinating, and executing facility improvements, infrastructure maintenance, equipment reliability initiatives, and land management projects across the operation. This role leads capital projects, oversees preventative maintenance programs, manages contractors, and identifies opportunities to improve efficiency, safety, and long-term asset value.

Capital & Infrastructure Projects
  • Plan and oversee construction, renovation, and facility improvement projects from start to finish.
  • Develop project budgets, schedules, and timelines.
  • Coordinate contractors, suppliers, and internal labor.
  • Provide hands on leadership and work alongside the crew when necessary.
  • Set clear expectations for quality and productivity
  • Inspect completed work before considering the project finished.
  • Ensure projects are completed safely, on time, and within budget.
  • Maintain clean and organized project sites.
Maintenance & Asset Management
  • Oversee preventative maintenance programs for facilities and equipment.
  • Prioritize repair needs based on operational needs.
  • Manage maintenance inventories and replacement planning.
  • Improve equipment reliability and reduce downtime.
  • Equipment management on mobile equipment.
Property & Land Management
  • Manage roads, drainage, fencing, buildings, and company-owned properties.
  • Coordinate mowing, vegetation control, snow removal, and erosion control.
  • Maintain the appearance and functionality of all company facilities.
Operational Improvement
  • Identify and implement efficiency improvements across the operation.
  • Research and evaluate new technologies and equipment.
  • Support managers with operational problem-solving and process improvements.
Safety & Compliance
  • Ensure projects comply with company safety standards and environmental regulations.
  • Promote safe work practices among employees and contractors.
  • Maintain documentation for inspections, permits, and maintenance activities.
Qualifications
