Silver Maple Construction, LLC (Silver Maple) is seeking a full-time Carpenter for our Special Projects team in Vermont. You’ll work on short-duration residential projects, repairs, renovations, warranty work, and various property services, across multiple homes.

You’ll join a small, agile crew that values craftsmanship, independence, and reliability. Read blueprints, follow construction plans, protect client privacy, and collaborate with the Project Manager to finish jobs right the first time.

Responsibilities

• Execute high-quality carpentry on short-duration residential projects: repairs, renovations, warranty work, and capital improvements.
• Handle framing, trim, doors, cabinetry, siding, decks, and matching finishes.
• Work in occupied homes respecting privacy and property; keep jobsites clean and safe.
• Collaborate with Project Manager on scope, sequencing, discoveries, and punch lists.
• Read blueprints and follow construction plans; flag unknowns early.

No two weeks look the same: you'll move between short-duration residential projects, repairs, renovations, warranty work, and Property Services jobs across some of Vermont's finest homes.

Why Special Projects

Our Special Projects team is Silver Maple's small, agile crew — typically projects under 15 working days, often in beautiful, occupied homes. You'll work together with the Special Projects Project Manager, who handles the scoping, scheduling, and client coordination so you can focus on doing your best work. It's the right fit for a carpenter who likes seeing projects through from start to finish, solving problems on the fly, and being trusted to work independently.

What You'll Do

• Execute high-quality carpentry on short-duration residential projects — repairs, renovations, warranty and corrective work, and capital improvements
• Handle a wide range of work in a single week: framing, trim, doors, cabinetry, siding, decks, and skilled troubleshooting to match existing finishes
• Work respectfully and discreetly in occupied homes — protecting client privacy, property, finishes, furnishings, and daily routines
• Partner closely with your Project Manager on scope, sequencing, discoveries, and punch lists so projects reach full completion the first time
• Read blueprints and follow detailed construction plans; flag unknowns and site conditions early
• Keep jobsites clean, safe, and buttoned up at the end of every day
• Represent Silver Maple's reputation for craftsmanship in every client interaction

What You Bring

• Strong general carpentry skills, with experience in both structural and finish work
• Versatility and confidence working solo or on a small crew, with the judgment to know when to ask questions
• A client-friendly, professional presence — you'll often be the face of Silver Maple in someone's home
• Proficiency with hand tools and safe use of power tools
• Commitment to jobsite safety (OSHA and company guidelines)
• Reliability, punctuality, and a team-first attitude
• Physical ability to lift, stand, and work in varied conditions
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation — this role travels between multiple project sites
• Previous residential remodeling, service, or repair experience preferred
