Job summary

Hobby Lobby is seeking a Special Projects Assistant in the Art & Creative Department to support event coordination and day-to-day administrative and operational tasks. You will help manage project information, vendor communications, and reporting to keep projects on track.

Strong communication, organization, and relationship-building skills are essential as you collaborate with teams and leadership. The role involves research, bookings, and ensuring information is ready for kickoff, tracking

Come be a part of a creative, fast-paced, and exciting team We’re hiring a Special Projects Assistant for Hobby Lobby’s Art/Creative Department. This person will assist in event coordination and execution, and oversees day-to-day administrative and operational functions for the Special Projects Team’s projects and processes to achieve success within defined strategies and goals. If you are a well-rounded individual with strong communication, organization, and relationship building skills, then we are looking for you!

What you will do
  • Participate in vendor/venue research, bookings, correspondence, and relationship building
  • Ensure Team and Leadership are up to date, organized, and prepared with all information needed to kickoff, track progress of, and meet objectives for projects, processes, and events
  • Gather, track, record, organize and share information and assets with strong attention to detail
  • Conduct research, complete projects, and prepare reports and files in a timely manner
  • Learn new techniques, tools, and technology as required
  • Enter and monitor project information in MARVIN and other Team records
  • Perform work-related errands
  • Anticipate obstacles and take initiative to communicate and problem-solve before/as they arise
  • Consistently provide high quality work, often under the pressure of tight deadlines

Education and Experience
  • Ability to maintain strict levels of privacy and confidentiality
  • Experience or qualifications in a related field with demonstrated project management skills
  • Proficient Mac and Microsoft Office Skills
  • Ability to give, accept, and apply critique and feedback
  • Strong work ethic that demonstrates professionalism, flexibility, reliability, and accountability
  • Ability to solve problems proactively with patience and intelligence
  • Ability to self motivate, take initiative, and exercise sound judgment
