California Governor's Office of Business and Economic Development (GO-Biz) invites applicants for the Hybrid, Limited Term position of Special Programs Analyst in Sacramento. Please note that this is a Limited Term position identified by the period listed above and may be extended and/or may become permanent through HR and Budget approval at the end of the original Limited Term period. Under the supervision of the Assistant Deputy Director for External Affairs and Operations, the Analyst III serves as Special Programs Manager for 1) the California Civic Media Program, a statewide initiative to strengthen local journalism across California, and 2) other programs and initiatives as assigned. The incumbent is primarily responsible for leading the day-to-day implementation of the Civic Media Program, which includes providing strategic direction to staff and contracted administrators while ensuring adherence to program timelines and commitments with a high-level of independence. The incumbent also serves as the primary liaison to the journalism community for GO-Biz and coordinates the activities of the program’s advisory board. Additionally, the position leads and supports other internal and external programs or projects as assigned.
Hybrid: this position is eligible for a hybrid telework schedule and requires reporting in-person at headquarters in Sacramento. As a result of the Governor’s executive order, GO-Biz employees may be required to come into the office in Sacramento at least four times a week, projected to be effective July 1, 2026.
