Job summary

GE Aerospace in Evendale (Cincinnati area) seeks an on-site Special Products Technician to operate advanced manufacturing equipment and apply special process technologies while following strict safety regulations.

The role reports to manufacturing, engineering and quality teams and focuses on developing solutions and presenting findings to stakeholders.

Qualifications

  • Requires an associated degree or high‑school diploma/GED.
  • Experience in manufacturing, inspection, assembly, instrumentation, or test technician roles.
  • Security clearance: DoD collateral (Secret eligibility).

  • Rotate across the lab performing slurry painting, Met lab, laser cutting, and airfoil inspection with high‑pressure air.
  • Plan and conduct projects requested by manufacturing engineers or organizational leaders.
  • Perform setup, hardware processing, inspection, and documentation of results.
  • Carry out material procurement and prepare reports.
  • Maintain accurate records of materials, services, results, observations and raw data.
  • Present data in an appropriate form.
  • Create and execute new or special material processing and evaluation techniques.
  • Coordinate with external and internal sources for information on materials and processes.

Job Description Summary

The Edison Works- TDC: Special Products Technician will support the Edison Works Supply Chain division. In this role, you will operate advanced manufacturing equipment and apply special process technologies, while adhering to stringent regulations related to the safety of personnel, product and facilities. You will develop solutions and report findings to key stakeholders including manufacturing, engineering and quality organizations. This role is on-site only.

Shift Schedule

1st shift – Monday to Friday, 6:00 a.m.to2:30 p.m.
2nd shift – Monday to Friday, 2:30 p.m.to11:00 p.m.

Roles and Responsibilities
  • Rotate across the lab performing various positions such as slurry painting, Met lab (using an electronic microscope to analyze flaws in parts), laser cutting, and airfoil inspection with high‑pressure air.
  • Plan and conduct projects requested by manufacturing engineers or organizational leaders.
  • Perform tasks including setup, hardware processing, inspection, and documentation of results.
  • Carry out material procurement and prepare associated reports.
  • Maintain accurate and complete records of materials and services used, experimental results, observations, and raw data.
  • Present data in an appropriate form.
  • Create and execute new or special material processing and evaluation techniques.
  • Contact external and internal sources for information regarding materials and processes that benefit assigned programs.
  • Maintain compliance with GE policies, procedures, and directives, including vouchering, reporting, operating, environmental, and safety practices.
Qualifications
  • Associated degree or high‑school diploma/GED from an accredited school or institution.
  • Manufacturing and/or inspection, assembly, instrumentation, or test technician experience.
  • Security clearance: DoD collateral (w/ Secret eligibility).
Desired Characteristics
  • Understanding and ability to work with complicated drawings and part prints.
  • Familiarity with advanced metals and/or composites.
  • Knowledge and ability to set up and operate conventional and non‑conventional machining.
  • Ability to operate computers, instruments, and gauges.
  • Proper use and care of assigned tools and equipment.
  • Adherence to standards, high‑quality work in a safe manner and within acceptable time.

Additional Information

This role may encounter high‑risk or hazardous operations and/or include shifts beyond a standard workweek. As such, a requirement of the role is to be at least 18 years of age by the time of joining.
