RWJBarnabas Health in New Jersey is seeking a Special Procedure Technologist to support the Electrophysiology lab. The role involves assisting the nursing and physician team with procedures, preparing rooms, managing orders, and ensuring patient safety and high-quality imaging.

Requires active ARRT and NJ DEP licenses, BLS, and at least 2 years of radiology experience, with Interventional Radiology exposure preferred. 36 hours weekly, evening shift, compensation details provided upon offer.

Qualifications

• BLS certification through the American Heart Association.
• Minimum of 2 years radiology experience.
• Procedural Interventional Radiology experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist in coordination of daily work schedule and room prep.
• Collaborate with physicians for orders, x-ray requisitions and lab results.
• Maintain proper exposure factors to minimize radiation for patient safety.
• Program digital equipment, film stand, and contrast injectors.
• Ensure radiation safety and ongoing education coordination.

Pay Transparency: The above reflects the anticipated hourly wage range for this position if hired to work in New Jersey. The compensation offered to the candidate selected for the position will depend on several factors, including the candidate‘s educational background, skills and professional experience.

Job Overview

Assists the nursing and physician team in the coordination of daily work from a technical aspect. Assists the Electrophysiology team in the preparation, performance and completion of all procedures performed including ablations and cardiac implants. Assures overall quality control and quality assurance standards are achieved. Assures overall patient comfort while achieving technical standards during procedures within the electrophysiology lab.

Qualifications

• Active, valid ARRT and NJ DEP license.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) through the American Heart Association (AHA) required.
• Minimum of 2 years radiology experience preferred.
• Procedural Interventional Radiology experience preferred.
• Minimum of 2 years radiology experience preferred.
• Procedural Interventional Radiology experience preferred.

Scheduling Requirements

This is 36 hours/week

Essential Functions

• Assists in the coordination of the daily work schedule and preparation of the rooms for the day
• Collaborates with physician for proper orders, x-ray requisitions and lab results
• Responsible for proper technical exposure factors with digital and conventional equipment to minimize radiation exposure for the safety and comfort of the patient
• This includes programming of digital computer, schonander film stand and contrast injectors
• Responsible for radiation safety and protection
• coordination of continuing education
