Job summary

RWJBarnabas Health is seeking a Special Procedure Technologist to join the Physiology team in New Jersey. The role supports the electrophysiology lab’s daily procedures, including ablations and cardiac implants, while maintaining high quality standards and patient comfort.

The requires ARRT and NJ DEP licenses, BLS, and a minimum of 2 years radiology experience; interventional radiology exposure is preferred.

Qualifications

• Active ARRT and NJ DEP license required.
• BLS through AHA required.
• Minimum of 2 years radiology experience preferred.
• Procedural interventional radiology experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assists in coordinating daily work schedule and room preparation.
• Collaborates with physician for orders, x-ray requisitions and lab results.
• Maintains proper exposure factors to minimize radiation dose while ensuring patient comfort.
• Handles programming of digital computers, film stand, and contrast injectors as needed.
• Ensures radiation safety and ongoing education coordination.

Job Overview

Assists the nursing and physician team in the coordination of daily work from a technical aspect. Assists the Electrophysiology team in the preparation, performance and completion of all procedures performed including ablations and cardiac implants. Assures overall quality control and quality assurance standards are achieved. Assures overall patient comfort while achieving technical standards during procedures within the electrophysiology lab.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

• Active, valid ARRTand NJ DEP license.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) through the American Heart Association (AHA) required.
• Minimum of 2 years radiology experience preferred.
• Procedural Interventional Radiology experience preferred.

Preferred Qualifications

• Procedural Interventional Radiology experience preferred.

Scheduling Requirements

This is 36 hours/week

Essential Functions

• Assists in the coordination of the daily work schedule and preparation of the rooms for the day,
• Collaborates with physician for proper orders, x-ray requisitions and lab results,
• Responsible for proper technical exposure factors with digital and conventional equipment to minimize radiation exposure for the safety and comfort of the patient,
• This includes programming of digital computer, schonander film stand and contrast injectors,
• Responsible for radiation safety and protection,
• coordination of continuing education,
