RWJBarnabas Health in New Brunswick, NJ is seeking a Special Procedure Technologist to support the Interventional Radiology team. This role coordinates daily operations, assists with examinations, and ensures radiation safety and patient comfort.

Part-Time, Day shift with 40 hours/week (4, 10-hour shifts) and a comprehensive benefits package. On-site at RWJBarnabas Health facilities in New Jersey.

Qualifications

• Active, valid ARRT license.
• Active NJ DEP license.

Responsibilities

• Assist nursing and physician team with daily coordination from a technical aspect.
• Assist Interventional Radiology team in preparation, performance and completion of examinations.
• Ensure quality control and radiation safety standards are met.
• Maintain patient comfort while achieving technical standards during procedures.
• Collaborate with physicians on orders, x-ray requisitions, and lab results.

Job Overview

Assists the nursing and physician team in the coordination of daily work from a technical aspect. Assists Interventional Radiology team in the preparation, performance and completion of all examinations performed both departmental and non-departmental. Assures overall quality control and quality assurance standards are achieved. Assures overall patient comfort while achieving technical standards during procedures.

Qualifications

• Active, valid ARRTand NJ DEP license.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) through the American Heart Association (AHA) required.
• Minimum of 2 years radiology experience preferred.
• Procedural Interventional Radiology experience preferred.
• Minimum of 2 years radiology experience preferred.
• Procedural Interventional Radiology experience preferred.

Scheduling Requirements

This is a Full-Time, Day position at 40 hours/week (4, 10-hour shifts, with an on-call and weekendrotation requirement).

Essential Functions

• Assists in the coordination of the daily work schedule and preparation of the rooms for the day,
• Collaborates with physician for proper orders, x-ray requisitions and lab results,
• Responsible for proper technical exposure factors with digital and conventional equipment to minimize radiation exposure for the safety and comfort of the patient,
• This includes programming of digital computer, schonander film stand and contrast injectors,
• Responsible for radiation safety and protection, coordination of continuing education,
