Position Overview

The Community Resource Coordinator (CRC), herein referred to as Coordinator, is responsible for the coordination, development, and evaluation of programs and services that enhance the resiliency of the assigned unit’s force and families. The Coordinator will organize and oversee peer support networks, recruit and vet active duty and family peer support counselors, and ensure they are trained according to USSOCOM CPPNC standards.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Collect and report data for formative and outcome evaluations of peer support and community programs.
  2. Support commands at multiple levels and locations by identifying and documenting program needs.
  3. Develop needs-based programming tailored to specific demographic groups and locations.
  4. Maintain extensive knowledge of DoD resources such as Military OneSource, MFLC, PFC, and Military Crisis Line.
  5. Lead or assist in developing processes, functions, and networking opportunities for subpopulations served.
  6. Establish, maintain, and report activity of peer counseling networks.
  7. Conduct or contribute to family information, outreach, and referral activities.
  8. Support deployment-related activities, including pre- and post-deployment preparation, reintegration, and decompression.
  9. Contribute to family relational enhancement activities and unit-level career transition programs.
  10. Implement social, family, and psychological programs, including suicide prevention and cognitive agility training.
  11. Serve as a liaison for community and family support, and communicate via various media including social media.
  12. Maintain awareness of emergency response protocols.
Minimum Requirements
  • US Citizenship required.
  • Secret or Top Secret Clearance, or ability to obtain one.
  • Bachelor’s degree in education, human/social services, or related field, or four years’ experience in social service education or related services.
  • Minimum of two years’ experience coordinating social service programs.
  • Willingness to receive specialized training in peer support counseling, community resources, and suicide prevention.
  • Keep current with best practices and developments in peer support and suicide prevention, and stay informed about DoD and community resources.
