Job summary

Hutchinson Public Schools Activities Department is seeking a Special Olympics/Unified Assistant Bowling Coach. The role will instruct athletes in fundamental skills, strategy and physical training to help them achieve individual and team success, while fostering pride and confidence.

The current session runs through November 15, 2026 with 13 days and up to 30 hours. After-school practice times vary by event; a fixed nominal stipend of $683.40 is paid weekly pro-rated if needed.

Qualifications

• Minnesota teaching and coaching certification preferred.
• Coaching experience in the sport is desirable.

Hutchinson Public Schools Activities Department is seeking aSpecial Olympics/Unified Assistant Bowling Coach.

TheSpecial Olympics/Unified Bowling Assistant Coachwill carry out the Purpose Statement andtheobjectives of the program.This position will instruct athletes in the fundamental skills, strategy and physical training necessary for them to realize individual and team success. At the same time, the student shall receive instruction that will lead to the formulation of pride of accomplishment and self-confidence.

Schedule:

• The current session runs through November 15, 2026
• 13 days, up to 30 hours total
• Practice is held after school and competition times vary based on the schedule of each event

Qualifications:

• Prefer Minnesota teaching and coaching certification.
• Prefer employment as a teacher in the Hutchinson School District.
• Previous coaching experience in assigned sport is desirable.
• Has knowledge and background in the assigned sport.

Nominal Stipend:

• The stipend amount for this position is $683.40
• The district will pay the coach a fixed stipend.The stipend amount is considered a \"nominal stipend\". The amount of the stipend will not change based on the number of daily hours that are devoted to coaching/advisor duties or the team's level of success. If team enrollment is not met, the district may make staffing reductions that reflect program level offerings within the first two weeks of the program. Any service provided during this two-week timeframe will be paid on a weekly pro-rated basis. In addition, if the selected candidate is unable to fulfill coaching/advising duties for five or more days, the stipend paid will be prorated.

Employment with Hutchinson Public Schools is contingent upon a satisfactory pre-employment background check, approval of the school board, and verification of meeting the qualifications above.
