Job summary

Hutchinson Public Schools Athletics Department seeks an Assistant Softball Coach. The coach will instruct athletes in fundamental skills, strategy and physical training to help achieve individual and team success, while fostering pride of accomplishment and self-confidence.

The position schedules 14 hours per week for the 2026-2027 season (03/15/2027 - 06/11/2027). Minnesota teaching and coaching certification are preferred.

Qualifications

HutchinsonPublicSchools ActivitiesDepartment is seeking an Assistant Softball Coach.

The Softball Assistant Coach will carry out the Purpose Statement and the objectives of the program. This position will instruct athletes in the fundamental skills, strategy and physical training necessary for them to realize individual and team success. At the same time, the student shall receive instruction that will lead to the formulation of pride of accomplishment and self-confidence.

Schedule:

• 14 hours per week, 68 days per season
• 2026-2027 season is from 03/15/2027 - 06/11/2027

Qualifications:

• Prefer Minnesota teaching and coaching certification.
• Prefer current employment with Hutchinson Public Schools.
• Previous coaching experience in assigned sport is desirable.
• Has knowledge and background in the assigned sport

Nominal Stipend:

• The stipend range for this position is $3,036.00- $4,047.00and is dependent upon education and experience.
• The district will pay the coach a fixed stipend as delineated in Schedule C, of the master agreement with the Education Hutchinson. The stipend amount is considered a "nominal stipend". The amount of the stipend will not change based on the number of daily hours that are devoted to coaching/advisor duties or the team's level of success. If team enrollment is not met, the district may make staffing reductions that reflect program level offerings within the first two weeks of the program. Any service provided during this two-week timeframe will be paid on a weekly pro-rated basis. In addition, if the selected candidate is unable to fulfill coaching/advising duties for five or more days, the stipend paid will be prorated.

Employment with Hutchinson Public Schools is contingent upon a satisfactorypre-employment background check, approval of the school board, and verificationof meeting the qualifications above.
