Job summary

West Virginia K-12 Jobs is seeking an Special Needs/Supervisory/Transportation Aide for Davis Thomas Elementary Middle School. This role supports students with special needs and general education students, assists the teacher, and may ride the bus as needed.

CPR/First Aid certification is required. The position is effective with the start of the 26-27 school year, with salary based on experience and education per CBOE salary schedule plus a competitive benefits package.

Qualifications

• Holds a high school diploma or GED.

• Possess strong oral and written communication skills.
• Interpersonal skills.
• Holds valid CPR and first aid card.

Responsibilities

• Ride the bus as needed.
• Assist the teacher in the classroom.
• Assist children with personal care needs.
• Physically capable of lifting children and items (minimum 50 lbs).
• Supervise students with special needs.
• Assist with small group and individual academic instruction.
• Monitor and support student behaviors.
• Assist with medical needs and Medicaid billing as needed.
• Other duties as assigned by the Director of Special Education or Building Administration.

SALARY

Salary based on experience and education level per CBOE salary schedule plus competitive benefits package equal to approximately 35% of direct compensation.
