Job summary

Lompoc Unified School District is seeking a Transportation Attendant to provide safe transportation for students with physical, medical, educational and emotional disabilities. You will assist bus drivers with loading/unloading, secure students and equipment, and monitor safety throughout trips.

The role requires a high school diploma and at least one year of experience with special needs children, plus CPR/First Aid certification upon employment and background/TB clearance.

Qualifications

• Graduation from high school or equivalent.
• One year experience working with special needs children.
• CPR/First Aid certification upon employment.
• Criminal background check.
• TB clearance.

Responsibilities

• Ride a school bus to provide safe transportation for students with disabilities.
• Assist drivers with loading/unloading and securing students and equipment.
• Monitor students to ensure safety and discipline on the bus.
• Attend trainings and communicate information to perform job functions.
• Maintain records and supportive documentation.
