Job summary

Federal Way Public Schools is seeking a Substitute School Bus Assistant for the 2026-2027 school year to support safe student transportation under the bus driver’s direction. Candidates must have a high school diploma or equivalent, be at least 21, and pass a background check. CPR/First Aid and SECURE training may be required.

Qualifications

• Background clearance required.
• CPR and First Aid certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Supervises and corrects student behavior on and around the bus.
• Instructs students in safe and responsible bus conduct.
• Assists loading/unloading of students and operates wheelchair lift as needed.
• Reports unsafe acts or conditions to driver or supervisor.
• Supports overall safety and security procedures per district guidelines.
