Job summary

Tahlequah Public Schools Tahlequah District in Tahlequah, Oklahoma seeks a Special Care Paraprofessional to support the implementation of the IEP for multi-handicapped students.

Under supervision of the special education team, you will assist with healthrelated activities, mainstreaming, hygiene tasks, and transportation to ensure safety and access to education in the least restrictive environment, while coordinating with therapists and teachers.

Qualifications

• Must have high school diploma or equivalent and successful ParaPro Assessment completed.
• Or completed 48 college hours and possess an Associates Degree.
• Must complete paraprofessional training and maintain status with in-service hours.

Responsibilities

• Implement activities to support IEP objectives under supervision of the special education team.
• Facilitate mainstreaming activities for students.
• Perform hygiene/health-related tasks to ensure health and safety.
• Assist with transportation to safely escort students to/from school and during activities.
• Other duties as assigned by supervisor.
