Job summary

Cincinnati Public Schools is seeking a Paraprofessional (Special Needs/1:1/Units) to support students under the supervision of certified staff at Mt. Washington ES in Cincinnati, OH.

The role focuses on assisting activities in classroom settings to meet instructional goals and relieve non-professional duties. Responsibilities include helping with reading, language arts, math, and computer instruction, supervising students in various areas, and supporting safety and behavior management.

Qualifications

• Any combination of education and experience meeting requirements.
• Associate's Degree or higher.
• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Parapro Assessment as required by NCLB.
• Educational Aide Permit issued by the State of Ohio.

Responsibilities

• Assist certified staff with students to meet instructional goals.
• Support reading, language arts, mathematics, computer instruction, and other skills.
• Work with students individually and in small groups to reinforce learning.
• Assist in classroom preparations and materials for instruction.
• Maintain records of student learning and performance.
• Support classroom behavioral management to maintain safety and focus.
• Supervise non-instructional areas (lunch, bus, playground, study hall).
• Accompany students on field trips for supervision.
• Distribute and use educational materials as needed.
