Job summary

Camas School District seeks an energetic Paraprofessional Special Education High Needs to support students in integrated programs. The role involves 1:1 and small group assistance in self-contained or specialized settings, under teacher guidance, to help students access regular and special education curricula.

The position requires advocating for students, implementing IEPs, collecting data, and assisting with behavioral supports while maintaining safe and supportive classroom environments.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent and 72 quarter/48 semester credits, AA/AS, or state paraprofessional exam.

Responsibilities

• Implement specialized and adaptive procedures and curriculum materials as instructed by the teacher.
• Prepare and utilize appropriate materials for use with students.
• Implement IEPs as designated.
• Provide for the physical needs of students including assistance with diapering, lifting, and transferring.
• Maintain records as instructed by staff.
• Collect and record student data and provide progress reports.
• Support and implement behavioral plans with students.
• Assist with adapting classroom materials.
• Assist with developing independent working, social, and self-help skills.
• Provide first aid to students as needed in an emergency.
• Provide physical restraint as needed.
• Perform other related duties to support student success.
