Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED; two years classroom experience or equivalent.
• Paraprofessional certification desirable; CPR/EMT within 60 days of hire; maintain status.

Responsibilities

• Monitors and supervises students during instructional and non-instructional activities, including lunch and bus arrival/departure.
• Provides instructional activity assistance to individual students or small groups as requested by the teacher.
• Assists teachers with room prep, instructional materials, and maintaining student records and performance data; performs clerical tasks.
• Assists teachers in designing lesson activities and IEPs; helps with performance assessments.
• Tracks student grades and helps students stay on track for graduation.
• Assists students with behavioral management and personal hygiene needs.
• Monitors use of computers and equipment to ensure district policies are followed.
• Transports students to/from off-campus activities as needed; assists during meals.
