Job summary

Chapel Pointe is seeking a Special Needs Coordinator to champion the church's vision within the Special Needs Ministry across locations.

The role focuses on overseeing program implementation, developing inclusive environments for children, teens, and adults with special needs, and recruiting and training volunteers to ensure meaningful participation in NextGen programming.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in special education or relevant experience.
• Relevant ministry or volunteer experience in church settings.
• Ministry or volunteer experience in special needs ministry or related fields preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain, and staff environments that support individuals with special needs.
• Manage a growth-oriented ministry aligned with Chapel Pointe's mission and vision.
• Educate volunteer leaders in NextGen Ministries on inclusion and engagement.
• Recruit, train, and support volunteer teams for special needs families.
• Present on Sundays to support the special needs volunteer team and families.

Purpose

The Special Needs Coordinator champions Chapel Pointe’s vision and values within Special Needs Ministry at all locations, maintaining consistency across programming and initiatives.

Responsibilities

Create Inclusive Environments - Central

• Oversee the implementation of the special needs ministry at Chapel Pointe sites.
• Develop, maintain, and staff environments that support the unique needs of children, teens, and vulnerable adults with special needs.
• Manage a growth-oriented ministry with goals that align with the mission and vision of the church.

Develop Special Needs Leaders - Central

• Educate volunteer leaders in NextGen Ministries and church-wide teams on the importance of individuals with special needs and how to effectively include them in our ministries.
• Work with NextGen volunteers and ministry leaders to identify and serve individuals with special needs.
• Present on Sunday mornings to support the special needs volunteer team, connect with families, and help new families assimilate.
• Recruit, process, and train volunteer teams to support our special needs families' unique needs.
• Build a team that enables all individuals with special needs to participate in NextGen programming at age-specific services and events.
