Job summary

Christ Community Chapel in Hudson, Ohio, seeks an Ability & Inclusion Associate (Adults) to lead its inclusive ministry for adults with special needs and disabilities. The role oversees current programs, develops new participation opportunities, and partners with families to engage everyone in church life.

This part-time position reports to the Director of Pastoral Care and focuses on equipping volunteers, recruiting teams, and collaborating with Women’s and Men’s ministry to create welcoming

Qualifications

  • Passionate about serving individuals with special needs and disabilities and helping them grow in their relationship with Jesus.
  • Experience in special education, disability ministry, behavioral support, counseling, social work, therapy, or a related field preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to recruit, equip, and lead volunteer teams.
  • Strong relational, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Flexible and adaptable in a growing and changing ministry environment.
  • Committed to creating safe, welcoming, and supportive environments for adults with special needs and disabilities.
  • Committed to the mission and vision of CCC.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate, select, and resource curriculum and teaching materials appropriate for varying abilities and learning styles.
  • Coordinate and support buddy volunteers who partner with adults participating in age‑level ministry environments.
  • Build relationships with community organizations and disability service providers to identify resources and opportunities for families.
  • Plan and lead events, support groups, and engagement opportunities for individuals with disabilities and their families.
  • Partner with Women’s and Men’s ministry leaders to create inclusive ministry environments throughout the church.

Position Description

The Ability & Inclusion Associate (Adults) will provide leadership for Christ Community Chapel’s (CCC) Ability & Inclusion Ministry serving adults with special needs and disabilities. This individual will oversee existing ministry programs, develop new opportunities for participation and discipleship, equip volunteers, and partner with families to help every individual engage fully in the life of the church. This is a part‑time position and reports to the Director of Pastoral Care.
