Job summary

Paramount Home Health Care is seeking a dependable, patient caregiver to support an independent individual with special needs in Palm Harbor, Florida. The role requires supervising and accompanying the client in the community, with a focus on safety, believability, and respectful engagement.

The caregiver should have experience with special needs, strong judgment, and the ability to remain calm while de-escalating crises when necessary. A valid driver’s license and reliable vehicle are required.

Qualifications

• Experience caring for individuals with special needs is preferred.
• Must be mature, dependable, patient and responsible.
• Must have a valid driver's license and insurance and a reliable personal vehicle.

Responsibilities

• Provide supervision and support to an individual with special needs.
• Accompany the patient into the community for outings and activities.
• Encourage independence while maintaining safety and support.
• Recognize signs of distress and use de-escalation techniques.
• Maintain composure and professionalism in challenging situations.
• Assist with community participation and daily activities as needed.
• Follow the patient’s care plan and agency guidelines.
• Communicate concerns and updates to relevant parties.
