Job summary

Consolidated Engineering Laboratories (CEL) is seeking a Special Inspector Group 2 to join our San Ramon, CA team. The role focuses on enforcing project requirements, codes, and quality standards, and on producing daily field reports.

Qualified candidates will hold AWS-CWI and/or ICC/NDE certifications, with construction experience and ability to read plans and specs. OSHA 10 is required; lifting up to 50 pounds. Hourly compensation is shown below and final pay depends on experience.

Qualifications

• Strong communications skills and ability to use apps on a smartphone or tablet.
• Ability to read and interpret construction plans and specifications.
• Knowledge of state and local building codes and standards.

Responsibilities

• Ensure services are performed per project requirements and contract with client.
• Ensure procedures and materials conform to contract documents and codes.
• Examine finished work for compliance with regulations.
• Prepare samples for testing.
• Interpret blueprints and specifications.
• Perform calculations related to inspection requirements.
• Write daily field reports.
