Job summary

Intertek’s Portland team seeks a Special Inspector to perform soil and concrete testing, inspections and data reporting on construction projects. You will use testing equipment, read plans, and communicate findings to clients in a fast-paced A/E/C environment.

The role emphasizes safety, reliability, and accurate documentation while supporting project teams and clients across diverse sites in Oregon.

Qualifications

• Construction materials testing experience required.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable driving record.
• Ability to work off shifts and overtime.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds frequently; more with assistance.
• Ability to read/interpret plans and specifications.
• Ability to work outdoors in various weather.
• Good observation and data reporting skills.

Responsibilities

• Operate, calibrate and maintain testing equipment for soil and/or concrete testing.
• Interpret drawings, specs and diagrams during inspections.
• Read and interpret plans and specifications for projects.
• Observe site activities and perform duties with accuracy and independence.
• Document data, test results and observations thoroughly for client reports.
• Communicate findings with clients and project teams; attend meetings.
