Job summary

Intertek is seeking a Special Inspector to join our Portland, Oregon team. You will perform testing, observations, and inspections under supervision in the A/E/C industry, including soil and concrete work, reviewing drawings and specs.

Your role requires strong materials testing experience, the ability to read plans, and effective communication with clients and project teams. This position may involve outdoor work and overtime.

Qualifications

• Construction materials testing experience.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable driving record.
• Ability to work off shifts and overtime.
• Ability to lift, move, push and pull up to 50 pounds frequently; Occasionally, over 50 pounds with assistance.
• Ability to receive detailed information through oral communication, (hearing) and to make the discriminations in sound
• Ability to kneel and squat occasionally.
• Ability to walk and stand for long periods of time.
• Ability to work outdoors in adverse weather conditions, including hot and cold temperatures.
• Ability to climb occasionally, and work at various heights.

The Special Inspector is responsible for performing a variety of testing, project-specific observations, and inspection duties under general supervision.

Preferred Requirements & Qualifications:

• High School diploma or equivalent
• ACI certifications - Level I, Concrete Construction Special Inspector
• ICC certifications in Reinforced Concrete, Masonry, Post Tension Concrete and Steel Inspector
