Job summary

Intertek-PSI in Portland, Oregon seeks a Special Inspector to perform testing, observations, and inspections in the A/E/C industry. Responsibilities include soil/concrete testing, interpreting plans, and maintaining comprehensive test data for project teams.

Qualifications include construction materials testing experience, a valid driver’s license, and ability to work overtime and outdoors in various weather conditions. Preferred certifications include ACI Level I and ICC inspector credentials.

The Special Inspector is responsible for performing a variety of testing, project-specific observations, and inspection duties under general supervision.

Minimum Requirements & Qualifications:

• Construction materials testing experience
• Valid driver’s license and reliable driving record
• Ability to work off shifts and overtime
• Ability to lift, move, push and pull up to 50 pounds frequently; Occasionally, over 50 pounds with assistance
• Ability to receive detailed information through oral communication, (hearing) and to make the discriminations in sound
• Ability to kneel and squat occasionally
• Ability to walk and stand for long periods of time
• Ability to work outdoors in adverse weather conditions, including hot and cold temperatures
• Ability to climb occasionally, and work at various heights

Preferred Requirements & Qualifications:

• High School diploma or equivalent
• ACI certifications - Level I, Concrete Construction Special Inspector
• ICC certifications in Reinforced Concrete, Masonry, Post Tension Concrete and Steel Inspector
