Medical Laboratory Scientist - Special Functions
The Special Functions lab performs routine and highly complex testing in autoimmune, infectious diseases, tumor markers, hormones, special hematology, and proteins. The department is staffed Monday through Friday, 6:30 am to 11:30 pm and Saturday and Sunday from 7:00 am to 3:30 pm.
The Medical Technologist in the Special Functions Laboratory will perform routine and specialized testing of both moderate and high complexity. Demonstrate technical expertise necessary to the area. Perform specimen processing functions and clerical duties. Maintain equipment and instruments. Act as a customer service representative for the laboratory both on the telephone and in interpersonal exchanges. Assume primary responsibility for the functions of a particular testing area or areas in the laboratory as assigned.
Minimum Education Required: Bachelor's Level Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience. ASCP certification required within one year of hire.
