The West Sacramento Police Department is seeking experienced law enforcement professionals to join our team in a part-time, extra help capacity to support special events and operations.

As an as-needed employee, Extra Help/Special Events Police Officers are an "at-will" position with no guaranteed hours. Hours are limited to 999 in a fiscal year or 960 for retired CalPERS annuitants. This role supports games, events, and peak-period staffing in West Sacramento.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Ten years of full-time experience in a municipal or general law enforcement agency.
• Currently employed as a Peace Officer with a California LEA, or Level I Reserve Officer, or retired Peace Officer.
• Possession of a valid California driver's license and POST certification.

Responsabilités

• Provide law enforcement presence and security at events.
• Support operations at games and special events.
• Assist with jail transport duties.
• Support full-time officers during peak periods.
