The Banquet Captain, as the welcoming face of the Special Events department, plays a vital role in creating a warm and seamless atmosphere from the moment guests arrive. This role demands a consistently professional demeanor, excellent communication skills, and a deep passion for hospitality that inspires others.**Responsibilities:*** Greet and welcome guests warmly and professionally.* Manage staff and vendors and maintain effective communication with guests and kitchen staff.* Provide guests with detailed menu information and assist with special requests or dietary needs.* Ensure that all guests' needs are met promptly, maintaining high service standards.* Coordinate with the Banquet Manager, servers, chefs, and other staff to ensure smooth service.* The Special Events Captain is responsible for directly supervising the specific events they are assigned to. This includes the planning, set-up, execution, and tear-down of each event.* Oversee and coordinate all aspects of banquet and private event operations.* Lead and supervise banquet staff, ensuring they deliver exceptional service and adhere to established standards.* Collaborate with event planners and clients to understand their needs and preferences, ensuring seamless execution of events.* Set up banquet rooms according to event specifications and maintain a keen eye for detail.* Monitor event timelines and coordinate with various departments to ensure smooth execution.* Train and mentor banquet staff to uphold service standards and enhance their skills.* Handle guest inquiries and concerns promptly and professionally.* Maintain inventory and ensure proper storage and handling of banquet equipment.* Collaborate with the culinary team to ensure the timely and accurate food delivery.* Uphold cleanliness and organization in banquet areas, adhering to health and safety guidelines.**Requirements:*** Proven experience as a Banquet Captain in a similar high-end hotel, events venue, or restaurant position.* Exceptional customer service skills and a friendly, outgoing personality.* Strong organizational skills and ability to multitask effectively.* Knowledge of fine dining etiquette and wine pairing is preferred.* Ability to remain calm under pressure in a fast-paced environment.* Excellent verbal communication skills.* **Flexibility to work varied hours, including weekends and holidays, is Mandatory.*** Collaborate effectively with fellow servers, bartenders, and staff to ensure seamless service delivery.**Physical Demands:*** Must be able to walk and stand for hours at a time.
