7Arts is a volunteer-run non-profit that operates a Makers Space, studio, gallery, and gift shop. This summer, you will work at 7Arts and in the community during special events like parties, festivals, and farmers markets.
Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site role for a Special Events and Volunteer Manager at NOVA SEVEN ARTS COUNCIL located in Kings, Subdivision A, NS. The manager will be responsible for event planning, customer service, event management, communication, and sales related to special events and volunteer coordination.
You will supervise a team of volunteers (ages 15-65+), organize daily art activities, and schedule the volunteer team during the summer season. You will attend special events and manage your team as they sell craft kits, offer craft activities, and face painting. Additional activities may be involved. Your creativity and planning skills will be challenged this summer. Your public persona will reflect 7Arts values and ethics. This position will help develop your problem-solving, time management, leadership, and organizational skills while working in a creative environment. In this leadership role, you will also support administrative staff with daily tasks, including answering phones and emails, drafting correspondence, creating posters, researching grants, report writing, and bookkeeping. You will also assist facilitators and artists during activities.
