Job description

Description

Starting Wage from $19.41/hour

(Pay range varies with experience)

  • Drives and operates ROW vehicles and equipment and able to safely and efficiently complete tasks and projects
  • Performs daily inspection and maintenance of chainsaws and safety equipment; must be able to safely and efficiently operate chainsaws. Notifies supervisor in the event of safety hazards
  • Performs right of way clearing duties, including bucket work, climbing work, ground clearing, cutting, chipping, piling, burning, and other disposal of brush
  • Safely operates special equipment to control vegetation along right of way
  • Inspects ROW in front of equipment to flag obstacles (e.g., phone pedestals, guy wire, septic tanks/septic systems, water and gas lines/meters, etc.)
  • Performs traffic control duties around work area as needed
  • Understands and promotes safety rules and policies; maintains good relations with crew members, patron cooperatives, and the public

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • This position is safety-sensitive per Arkansas Medical Marijuana Act 593 and AECC/AECI standards
  • Requires a post-offer, pre-employment Fitness for Duty Exam and DOT Physical
  • At least 3 months experience and/or training
  • Valid driver's license required
  • Able to work in potentially hazardous environments (fire, chemicals, machinery, electrical hazards, fumes, heights, etc.)
  • Able to work in extreme heat or cold and noisy areas
  • Capable of performing highly repetitive and physical tasks
  • Must be able to travel and stay overnight as needed
  • Willing to work extra hours and report during non-scheduled periods
  • Training per 29 CFR 1910.269(a)(1)(i)(E)

MINIMUM EXPERIENCE

  • Special Equipment Operator I - minimum 3 months experience
  • Special Equipment Operator II - minimum 1 year experience

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Commercial Applicator Technician
  • Class A or B CDL License
  • Temporary Traffic Control Certification
