Job description

Description

Starting Wage from $19.41/hour

(Pay range varies with experience)

  1. Drives and operates ROW vehicles and equipment and able to safely and efficiently complete tasks and projects
  2. Performs daily inspection and maintenance of chainsaws and safety equipment; must be able to safely and efficiently operate chainsaws. Notifies supervisor in the event of safety hazards
  3. Performs right of way clearing duties, including bucket work, climbing work, ground clearing, cutting, chipping, piling, burning, and other disposal of brush
  4. Safely operates special equipment to control vegetation along right of way
  5. Inspects ROW in front of equipment to flag obstacles (e.g., phone pedestals, guy wire, septic tanks, water and gas lines/meters)
  6. Performs traffic control duties around work areas as needed
  7. Understands general safety rules and policies and promotes good relations with crew members, patron cooperatives, and the public

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  1. This position is safety-sensitive per Arkansas Medical Marijuana Act 593 and AECC/AECI standards
  2. Requires a post-offer, pre-employment Fitness for Duty Exam and DOT Physical
  3. At least 3 months experience and/or training
  4. Valid driver's license required
  5. Ability to work in potentially hazardous and life-threatening environments (fire, chemicals, mechanical parts, electrical sources, fumes, heights, etc.)
  6. Ability to work in extreme heat or cold
  7. Ability to work in loud areas
  8. Ability to perform highly repetitive and physical functions
  9. Willingness to travel and stay overnight as needed
  10. Availability to work extra hours and report during non-scheduled times
  11. Training as specified in 29 CFR 1910.269(a)(1)(i)(E)

MINIMUM EXPERIENCE

  1. Special Equipment Operator I - at least 3 months of experience
  2. Special Equipment Operator II - at least 1 year of experience

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Commercial Applicator Technician
  • Class A or B CDL License
  • Temporary Traffic Control Certification
