Job Summary

The Department of Special Education and Social Foundations within the School of Education at GGC invites applications for a Visiting Lecturer position to teach undergraduate courses in Special Education during the 2025-2026 school year. This position is a full-time temporary position tied to a one year contract. The successful candidate will have knowledge of best practices in providing special education services. This individual will teach in the online special education program and professional responsibilities may include teaching courses and providing field supervision. This is a non-remote position (on-campus) with an anticipated start date of August 1, 2025. Salary is commensurate with education and experience.

Required Qualifications
  • Master of Special Education; or Master of Education with a minimum of 18 graduate hours specifically in the area of special education
  • Previous experience as a K-12 special education teacher; and a K-12 educator license in special education
  • Commitment to teaching undergraduate courses during the day, night and/or Saturdays
  • Commitment to teaching, service, and student engagement
Preferred Qualifications
  • Doctorate in Special Education
  • Experience in the area of emotional behavioral disorder or autism spectrum disorder
  • Experience teaching in a fully online or hybrid environment
  • Familiarity and experience with the GaPSC and teacher certification requirements in Georgia
