Job summary

Spruce Mountain School District – RSU #73 in Maine is seeking an Educational Technician I to join the special education team at Spruce Elementary School in Livermore Falls. This position will support students with diverse needs, under supervision of licensed staff, and contribute to their academic and behavioral growth.

Successful candidates will collaborate with teachers to manage behaviors, implement IEPs and behavior plans, and assist with academic programming in small groups or one-on-one

Qualifications

• Must be eligible and apply for or have authorization as an education technician I through the Maine Department of Education.
• Maine State Law requires all school employees to be fingerprinted and pass a Criminal History Records Check (CHRC) for a Department of Education.
• Experience working with students with challenging emotional / behavioral needs and at risk students with academic, social and behavioral concerns is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with the special education program team to manage student behaviors and implement IEPs and behavior plans.
• Deliver academic programming in consultation with the special education teacher.
• Support students in both regular and special education settings in small groups and one-on-one to meet individual needs.
• Some students may require personal care; training will be provided.
