Job summary

Bartholomew Consolidated School Corporation is seeking a Special Education Teaching Assistant at Columbus North High School to support a life skills classroom. Under supervision, you will assist certified staff, reinforce instruction, and help with assessments and materials.

Responsibilities include small group and individual support, field trip supervision, and collaboration with parents and staff to maximize student progress and inclusion.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Prior experience working with students with special needs is desirable.
• Ability to assist in instruction and classroom activities under supervision.

Responsibilities

• Assist students with reading, language arts, mathematics and computer-based instruction.
• Work with students individually or in small groups to reinforce learning.
• Support certified staff in administration and correction of assignments and assessments.
• Assist with classroom materials preparation and the reinforcement of instructional strategies.
• Record student progress and maintain confidential records as needed.
• Assist with behavior management to maintain a safe, orderly environment.
