Job summary

Great Hearts Lakeside Lower School is seeking a Special Education Teaching Assistant for grades K-5 to support students in general and special education classrooms. The role collaborates with certified teachers to adapt materials and reinforce learning across settings.

The ideal candidate has a high school diploma or higher, with preferred AA or 60 college credits and ParaPro certification. This is an hourly, non-exempt position in Fort Worth, with comprehensive benefits and development

Worth, Texas: Full time: Posted Today: R-838**Position Title:** Special Education Teaching Assistant (K-5) **Location:** Great Hearts Lakeside Lower School (7633 Harris Parkway Fort Worth, TX 76123) **Reports To:** Headmaster **FLSA Status:** Hourly, Non-ExemptThe Special Student Services - Teaching Assistant is a non-certified assistant to the Special Education Program at the academy for both general education and special education resource classrooms. The assistant will work to support students in all settings n campus under the direction of and in collaboration with the certified Special Education teachers and General Education teachers. Some locations (e.g. Title I schools) may require assistant teachers to have an AA, 60 hours of college credit, or be able to pass a ParaPro proficiency exam before beginning work. **Required/Preferred Experience:** Has experience in special education. **Required/Preferred Skills:** Excellent oral and written communication skills, and an interest in reading great books. Educational Aide certification I, II, or III preferred. **Physical Functions:** Requires but is not limited to standing, sitting, repetitious hand and body movements, bending, squatting, and reaching.
